Giants vs. Panthers Live Updates: NFL Concludes International Games in Germany

The New York Giants and Carolina Panthers clash in Munich for the NFL’s fifth and final international game of the season, both teams hoping for a much-needed reset. With identical 2-7 records, both franchises have their sights set on future improvements as they grapple with significant challenges on the field.

For the Panthers, the season is shaping up as a tough learning curve for rookie quarterback Bryce Young, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. While Young has faced expected rookie struggles, Carolina’s issues are far-reaching; the Panthers’ defense ranks last in the league, surrendering close to 400 yards and 33 points per game, underscoring the need for improvement beyond just quarterback play.

The Giants, on the other hand, face their own quarterback dilemma. Daniel Jones, in the second year of a hefty four-year, $160 million contract, has struggled this season, posting one of the league’s lowest passer ratings among regular starters. The Giants could opt to release him after this season, though they would incur a $22 million cap hit in 2024. Interestingly, Jones has performed better away from MetLife Stadium, where the Giants have yet to secure a win.
